This was interesting to watch. A little old school. The white girl was pretty naive which was annoying- thinking her parents wouldn’t have a problem. I absolutely love that the black mom was the voice of reason and love that changed the white dads mind.
Lynn, agreed. I was curious as to how addressing race would play out in this but for the most part was pleasantly surprised in it's progressiveness, given the time.
We should have done this as a double feature with Get Out.
ReplyDeleteAn excellent finale for the Katharine Hepburn week - she was so great in this.
Tracy/Matt at the Ice Cream shop was SO RANDALL.
For a movie over 50 years old, some of the racial and gender themes feel dated, but some still feel very relevant.
